
Linda Lockett is author of Lana’s Day at Church which reflects her early childhood’s rural Southern African American church experience. She lives in the Las Vegas metropolitan area where she is a higher education professor, with interest and publications in the areas of Religion and Politics, and Climate Change. Linda is a member of the Henderson Writers Group (HWG) and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She has worked with the St. Louis Black Repertory Company Children’s Theater as actor and Camp Rep Instructor. As a former pre-school teacher, she enjoys writing about happy events of childhood for young readers. Linda also writes non-fiction, science-fiction, lyrics and poetry.
Proceeds of the book goes to the Born2BLoved organization that supports homeless teens. As a teen Linda experienced homelessness, which gave her a different outlook on life. With the help of others in ‘the village’ of the world, through human support and guidance, she discovered an interest in books, arts, music, and academics. Linda has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, and have publications in the area of Politics and Religion. She has a Masters of Public Administration Degree with emphasis on non-profit organizations, and has completed PhD program courses in International Relations.
